Big Fish Recruitment (BFR) are a self-built, privately owned collective that partners with an attentively selected number of Recruitment Agencies across the sectors in which we operate. BFR determine who to collaborate with by ensuring our clients possess a shared vision and ethos towards the recruitment cycle, coupled with the positive treatment of staff being absolutely paramount. The golden rule we stick to at all times when partnering with agencies is ‘would we want to work here ourselves?’ which always delivers through our experience, strong values and understanding of all things recruitment; this knowledge allows us to confidently advise prospective candidates about these exciting organisations, giving us a huge sense of achievement when effectively supporting our partners. The core focus for BFR is to ensure we enhance the growth of our partnerships through the deliverance of high calibre professionals.

A large part of BFR’s success in support comes through referrals gained from consistent relationship building, alongside our intrinsic desire to be an ethical business; whilst this delivers exclusive Recruitment Practitioners, we also generate money for our chosen partnered charities through initiatives, fund raising and each time we pay a referral, we pay a solid amount into our chosen charity fund. For our partnered businesses, we are their number one choice and through connections with satisfied candidates, we are the chosen Rec2Rec provider to Recruitment Consultants looking to achieve in the market.

Our Story...

Our Co-Founders Luke & Craig started building Big Fish Recruitment (BFR) in January 2019 & have since turned this into an immensely successful dual market Recruitment Partner, with one of those markets being Education; the original plan of splitting the two verticals & continuing that Education success under the WFW banner is now in motion. We have some incredible plans for our Recruitment Group: Plethora over the next couple of years, with the next step of those plans due to be announced very soon.

Craig Springett

Managing Director & Co-Founder

Craig is a Co-Founder and sits on the Board of Directors at Plethora Group. Responsible for the development of the business into a market leading group of Talent Sourcing companies. A driving force for continuity, attraction, retention, culture, systems, ethos, processes, good jokes and on point GIFs.

Craig is also Managing Director and Recruiter with our Big Fish Recruitment brand. Helping Recruitment businesses find, attract and retain top talent, aiding the growth of those business and those careers.

With 15 years Recruitment industry experience, Craig is skilled in Recruitment across many sectors including Financial Services, IT, Tech, Construction, Education, Pharma & Life Sciences. Craig prides himself on the tight connections built with candidates and the successful working relationships with partnered clients, playing a key role in their progression and will tell you he knows someone for everything!

Luke Carnell

Managing Director & Co-Founder

A highly skilled Recruitment Professional consistently delivering over & above in the Education sector. With over 8 years in the wonderful world of Recruitment, Luke has excelled in every capacity ensuring enhancement of each business across all levels, as well as surpassing expectations in each managerial capacity through achieving on implemented strategy. New business development, candidate selection methodology, team development, key relationship evolution, processes innovation & quality assurance are a small selection of his key attributes.

With 16 years’ experience in Recruitment, 6 devoted to Education, Kim is a natural and highly skilled people-person specialising in strengthening partnerships across the education sector through solid foundations of support and aligned outcomes.  Driven by her passion for partnering schools and educators through innovation and tech, Kim has consistently achieved outstanding results through her commitment to quality, compliance, dedication and utmost professionalism.

As Partnerships Manager for Big Fish Recruitment, Kim utilises her expert knowledge and experience within the sector to ensure educators across all levels are heard, supported and connected; ready for their next big opportunity to bring quality, value and purpose to their work; as leaders, teachers, or supporters. Kim prides herself on her honest, transparent and trusted service to both her clients and candidates; working ‘smarter not harder’ to offer lean and sustainable solutions

Amy Dunn

Partnerships Manager

Amy has over 8 years experience within the recruitment sector starting on the compliance side back in 2013 and then gaining experience in 360 recruitment, Delivery, and Talent Acquisition throughout her career.

She has experience of hiring both experienced and trainee consultants covering sectors such as; Digital & Tech, Life Sciences, Banking & Finance & the Public Sector. She has also hired people across the UK, Ireland and the US. Her strengths lie within building long lasting relationships, transparency, and providing market knowledge to both candidates & clients.

Charlotte Ward

Candidate Partnerships Manager

Charlotte has dedicated the past 16 years of her career to the Education Sector. As well as first-hand experience working in schools & Early Years settings, she has over 11 years’ experience as a Senior Education Recruiter both in the UK & international markets.

Charlotte has built a lucrative career on her ability to form loyal & trusted partnerships with candidates & schools alike, taking an ‘honesty is the best policy approach’. Using her knowledge & expertise in: Early Years, Primary, Secondary & SEND, Charlotte has been successful in matching the very best opportunities to her candidates.
